Post #9: I Wrote Another Book
About two months ago I had an idea pop in my head for a book. I have a whole document saved on my trusty flash drive filled with ideas. Stories I can write. Genres I want to get into. I added this idea to the bottom of the list.
Then it went straight to the top. I get into the details in the book of what happened that made me focus on it, but it went from focused to obsessed. I would wake up in the morning and the story was there, the next chapter flying through my mind a thousand miles an hour. So I wrote. I would put the laptop down to take a break and I couldn't stand it, back to the keys I went.
I would wake up in the middle of the night and the urge to write was almost unbearable. I would have to force myself to stay in bed and try to get more sleep. I lived, breathed and drank this book. For seventeen days, it's all I could do. Laundry, dinner, my kids social studies project, nothing. I mean,, I did those things, kind of, but I wasn't present. I was in the book.
A Journey Through Shadow, book 2 in my Journey Series should be finished and ready for editing by the middle of next month, but A Certain Woman, my passion project, finished last night. It took me seventeen days to write and thirty three years to prepare for.
I am so excited. I am so thrilled. I am so blessed.
I have written a Narrative Nonfiction, filled with love and hope and a little more blood than you would expect. And I did so with the Holy Spirit guiding me.
This passing thought that I had one day quickly turned into a fire in my soul and a calling that had to be answered. That's why there was no post last week, no email to my list, I was wrapped up in the throes of my obsession! I don't know how else to describe it, it has been an amazing experience and I can't wait to share more with you.
I love you all so much!
